Among
Short’s greatest accomplish-ments is the role he had in
the Persian Gulf War. Short commanded the U.S. Army Information
Systems, a world-wide military communications system that was
praised as one of the keys to the success of the war.
Short, one of just a few black lieutenant generals in the U.S.
Army, developed a deep respect for the tens of thousands of
soldiers who worked with him over the years.
From 1994 to 1997 Short was president/CEO of Micah Systems,
a high tech information/engineering company. He also serves
as vice president at Lockheed Martin for the Department of Defense
and Department of Justice Information Support Services.
Today, Ret. Lt. Gen. Alonzo Short serves as board chairman for
ZeroPlus.com a small publicly-traded high tech company. He also
serves as board chairman for the Promise Keepers ministry and
on several advisory boards in the corporate sector.
